Juilliard String Quartet Canceled

We’re very sad to announce the Juilliard String Quartet concerts scheduled for April 24 and 26 are being canceled, due to the death from cancer of violist Roger Tapping. Music lovers everywhere will miss him and his music-making.

At the time of Roger’s death in January, the Juilliard’s surviving members believed that a new violist would be chosen in time for our dates. For the best of reasons, careful consideration of many candidates, that has not yet happened.

We are working to reschedule both the Juilliard String Quartet and Danish String Quartet in the near future.

Here are your options regarding refunds/ticketing:

  • To donate the face value of your tickets to Chamber Music Cincinnati,  which we would greatly appreciate given the reduced revenue resulting from the Covid pandemic, no action is required. If you do not request a refund by June 3rd, we will consider their tickets a donation.

  • For refunds of the face value of your tickets please call the Memorial Hall Box Office at 513-977-8838 before June 3.

If you are a subscriber, please remember that Anthony McGill and Gloria Chien, originally scheduled to perform on January 16 and 17, will now be on Sunday, June 5 at New Prospect Baptist Church in Roselawn and on June 6 at Memorial Hall. Your January tickets will be good for these performances.

No single tickets are available for sale for those concerts at this time.

If you wish to change to a day different from the one shown on your ticket (Sunday to Monday, or vice versa) please contact the Memorial Hall box office in advance to be sure that seats are available.

The Memorial Hall Box Office is open Tuesday through Friday from 1 PM to 6 PM at 513-977-8838.

Obviously, none of these changes were within our control and we regret any inconvenience to you. We greatly appreciate your understanding and look forward to seeing you soon.
