“The glittering clarity of the Brentano’s sound was intoxicating… A revelatory performance.” – The Strad

Founded in 1992 at the Juilliard School, the Brentano Quartet has performed in the world’s most prestigious venues, including Carnegie Hall and Alice Tully Hall, the Library of Congress, London’s Wigmore Hall, Vienna’s Konzerthaus, Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw, Tokyo’s Suntory Hall, Sydney’s Opera House, among many others. After the Tokyo String Quartet retired in 2013, the Brentano became Quartet-in-Residence at Yale University. It won the Naumburg Chamber Music Award, the first Cleveland Quartet Award, and was an inaugural member of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center’s CMS Two series. This will be their fourth time performing on our series since 1998, following most recently a 2016 concert here.
