Double Grammy-winning cellist Zuill Bailey is a internationally renowned soloist, recitalist, artistic director and teacher. He has been featured with the Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, Detroit, Indianapolis, Toronto, and Israel symphony orchestras, the Juilliard String Quartet, Lynn Harrell, and Janos Starker, among many. He made his concerto debut at Carnegie Hall performing the U.S. premiere of Mikos Theodorakis’ Rhapsody for Cello and Orchestra, and presented the U.S. premiere of Nico Muhly’s Cello Concerto with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. He is Director of the Center for Arts Entrepreneurship at the University of Texas at El Paso.

Recordings include the Bach Cello Suites and Britten Cello Symphony/Sonata CD with pianist Natasha Paremski (Billboard Classical #1), live performances of the Muhly Cello Concerto (World Premiere), the Brahms Sextets with the Cypress Strings Quartet, and the Elgar and Dvořák Cello Concertos, called by Gramophone the new “reference” recording. Broadcast appearances include a recurring role on the HBO series Oz, NBC’s Homicide, A&E, NHK TV in Japan, and a live broadcast of the Beethoven Triple Concerto with Itzhak Perlman conducting the Israel Philharmonic.
